Robotic surgery has rapidly shifted from a niche innovation to a defining force in modern surgical care.
For surgeons, it enhances precision, ergonomics, and anatomical clarity.
For patients, it offers faster recovery, reduced pain, and consistently better outcomes.
The landscape is evolving further with the arrival of newer robotic systems. Greater competition is improving accessibility, refining technology, and gradually making advanced care more affordable.
These developments are helping expand the reach of high-quality minimally invasive surgery across diverse healthcare settings.
I recently had the opportunity to visit Manipal Hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi, on an invitation from Meril to observe the hashtag#MIZZO robotic system.
Watching live surgeries and handling the platform firsthand added valuable insights to my surgical practice.
The experience felt even more special as I spent the day alongside my robotic surgery teammates — Dr JAIPALREDDY POGAL and Dr Shrikant Kurhade .
My sincere thanks to Vikas Ravirala and Gaurav Rohilla from Team Mizzo robot
and to Dr Surender K. Dabas and his entire Team Oncosurgery Manipal Hospitals for this opportunity and warm hospitality.
It is encouraging to see an Indian company investing in advanced surgical technology. Systems like these hold promise in expanding access and supporting better patient care in the long run.
