Honoured to be invited as Operating Faculty for the AWR & Hernia Workshop organised by the Postgraduate Department of Surgery, Institute of Medical Sciences & SUM Hospital (ims sum hospital), Bhubaneswar, held on 12 October 2025, under the aegis of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Odisha State Chapter, and AWRSC.IMS & SUM Hospital, a constituent of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), is a leading academic and tertiary care centre, recognised by the National Medical Commission, with a strong legacy in undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty medical education and advanced patient care.
I was entrusted with demonstarting two surgeries-
a Laparoscopic eTEP Right Inguinal Hernioplasty- https://lnkd.in/dbfRZexa
b Ventral TAPP Hernioplasty for multiloculated lateral hernias.
Both sessions witnessed excellent engagement, with lively interactions between moderators and an attentive audience comprising senior surgeons, faculty, and postgraduate students from across Odisha.
The workshop offered a true knowledge feast, with live demonstrations by several stalwarts of laparoscopic surgery from the state, including @DrShakti Prasad Sahoo, Dr Ramji Khetri, Prof Tushar Mishra, Prof Dr Rashmi ranjan Sahoo, Dr Jitendra Senapati, and many others. It was indeed a privilege to demonstrate surgery alongside such distinguished colleagues.
My sincere thanks to the Department of Surgery, Head – Dr Jitendra Narayan Senapati, Organising Secretary – Prof Rashmiranjan Sahoo, Prof Debashish Samal, Dr Prakash Sasmal, and the entire team for their warm hospitality and impeccable organisation.
