It was a professionally enriching experience to work on both Multiport and Single port systems of the Edge Medical Robotic systems
What made this visit particularly exciting was the chance to explore a robotic surgical system that has not yet been introduced in India but is expected to enter the Indian market next month.
The facilities at the EDGE Robotic Systems Lab were well-designed, technologically sophisticated, and clearly oriented toward innovation, training, and safety.
Equally impressive was the warmth and hospitality of the team in Shenzhen.

The openness with which they shared knowledge, discussed workflows, and encouraged meaningful academic exchange made the learning experience even more rewarding.
From a broader perspective, it is encouraging to see multiple robotic systems entering the global market. Increased competition and technological diversification are likely to play a crucial role in driving down costs, improving accessibility, and accelerating adoption. Ultimately, this evolution will help translate the benefits of robotic surgery (greater precision, reduced morbidity, faster recovery, and better outcomes) to a much larger section of the population.
Visits like these reaffirm the importance of global collaboration, continuous learning, and early engagement with emerging technologies.
