Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Surgeons’ Community (AWRSC) has consistently played a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation of hernia and abdominal wall surgeons through structured teaching activities. These initiatives span didactic lectures, live surgeries, focused workshops, and cadaver-based training, ensuring young surgeons receive comprehensive, hands-on exposure to contemporary AWR techniques.
Cadaveric learning is particularly invaluable for young surgeons, as it allows a deep understanding of anatomical planes, myofascial release techniques, and mesh positioning in a controlled, pressure-free environment.
Such training bridges the critical gap between theory and real-world operative practice, significantly enhancing surgical confidence and safety.
I was delighted to serve as faculty for the Cadaver Course on Abdominal Wall Reconstruction held on 10 Jan 2026 at MGM Institute of Medical sciences Kamothe, Navi Mumbai under the aegis of AWRSC and NAVI Mumbai Surgical society (NMSS)
It was a great learning experience to share knowledge with enthusiastic younger colleagues while also learning from fellow AWR surgeons.

My sincere thanks to AWRSC and MGM Medical College for making me a part of such an excellently organised cadaver training program and for their continued commitment to advancing education in abdominal wall surgery.
